True correct me if I am wrong here, but the whole premise of this thread is "Is online streaming videos legal?" , and the answers posted here say "No", and that is false. the answer here is that "yes, online movies/videos can be legally streamed" as evidenced by Hulu, and limited licenses provided to embed. I am correcting those misconceptions, and telling/showing everyone how a webmaster can legally show streaming full length movies/videos on their websites.
Of course. If they have permission. Which sites like Hulu give you. But that's not streaming. That's just embedding. Just like You Tube.
your embedding a full length copyrighted movie stream, and its legal. Embedding the code via a Hulu player/widget allows content to be streamed, and to the uninformed viewer, you cannot tell that the movie is not actually streaming from the website itself. Most people confuse "streaming" video with "embedding" a streaming video, as the same thing even though the source is different. for example: http://www.havocarcade.com/media/470/Night-Junkies.html Look at the op's question- he specifically asks about HULU Streams. Everyone here told him it is illegal. Everyone here is mistaken, and wrong. As long as the "stream" is via a Hulu widget/embedded player it transfers a limited license to view the streaming content. Furthermore, there is no restriction to how many people can watch the HULU stream, or website embedded stream. Now, on the other hand, if he is "ripping" the content, and/or otherwise violating the HULU TOS then he is infringing the copyright/distribution rights of the said content, and that is illegal.
I think it is OK to stream videos online and I like those websites that offers free movies, like this one that offers many free Hollywood movies to watch and download - http://www.leawo.com/youtube-download/videosites.html#a=leawo
Why commit piracy when you could easily just get the DVD or whatever by itself? I've collected movies and games for years and believe that's the best and only proper way to do it. Expensive or not, it's more rewarding and you get a genuine copy. You can upload movies to YouTube using software that extracts the files one at a time. But when such clips are discovered, a company reserves the right to have them pulled from the site. You may not like it, but it's their material, their rules. But, I do not think it's legal to use torrents, although I have myself used them for convenience. As for streaming videos, that isn't illegal if the owner allows it.
Well this has gotten way off track There is NO WAY to download the movie. So there is no distribution or sharing of any kind. There is no way to save the file. It loads like watching CNN live, people cant rewind pause it etc cause it isnt uploaded or downloaded. Its kind of like streaming your desktop. If your playing freecell and people watch then they dont get a copy of the game freecell. Noone can pirate the movie becuase its MY MOVIE. Most people seem to get sensitive whenever people watch movies together because they feel that it is theft. Though my parents invite their friends over for movie nights and the cops never come. Plus I have SEEN people use other peoples netflix accounts between classes to watch movies and they have not been arrested either even though the account belongs to my friend but doesnt mind us watching movies on her laptop when she is in class and we are on break. This thread is about just watching a movie together with a chat room so we can talk about the movie or other stuff.
Okay what about this site: www.themoneybeets.com It has full good quality episodes of the office, community, parks and rec, seinfeld, 30rock, reno911, etc. And it is done very well and growin extremely fast. How is this legal? Is it because they have hosting in a country that allows it (and also resides there)?
