From time to time, I come across ad units - generally the rectangle format - with just one (1) link instead of the four we usually see and I am wondering what it can mean ? Does it have anything to do with the bid, the CTR or something like that ? Note : - I understand that it is normal that this happens on a page with more than one ad unit since google can run out of relevant ads to display but I mean pages with only ONE unique ad unit. - I am not talking about CPM ads that can buy the whole unit but only about "regular link". I would apreciate any answers.
In theory, the fewr the ads the higher the value of the ads, however, showing too few will likely result in lower CTR. I would say 2 blocks per page is a max as its a good combination of not showing too many yet getting some high value ads.
That is not my point ! I am talkin about one "ad unit" (a rectangle for example) but with one link showing on that bloc not four as you would expect.
Thank you wmtips for the info. As you may have noticed I wrote a note about that in my question Anyway, do you have the date that text was published on ? I absolutely agree, my worry is to know if this is the only case in which you may see this kind of ad or are there any other cases related to the bid, the CTR or something like that.
i think there is no exact answer for your question . the answer changes according to your site category, theme and hit
