    I just started a new niche website on 1/10 at obamadales.com

    I am looking for advice if this will prove to be a good domain name and what you would do if you had this domain name to monetize it.

    you need a logo or something. Other than that it looks like you have a good start.

    Just optimize the website for keywords like Obama fans, Obama shirts etc. The keyword Obama is having a huge traffic. It will generate more sales. Do build more backlinks and do social bookmarkings to get higher rankings.
