    Is net neutrality important?

Net neutrality is a big issue at the moment and I wanted to know what you lot thought about it so that I can use these results in an interview I am likely to be doing with Tim Berners-Lee soon

so...should we protect net neutrality or just let isp's take over?

Protect net neutrality. ISP's taking over is a bad idea. It has been theorized that if I was with one ISP and wanted to check out a competing ISP's web page that they could slow down the loading of that web page or block access to it all together. Net neutrality insures freedom to surf the net with no interference from any ISP. You want to see an example of ISP control then look at China. They may not be ISP controlled but what the government says it allows is what is allowed. If the government bans something then it is banned. If you let ISP's control the internet then whatever ISP you choose to use then whatever they say goes. Bad idea in my opinion.

Of course we should protect net neutrailty, without it the internet as we know it would be destroyed.

The net should stay neutral. The isps should no way take over what sites we can access faster than others. As a small business owner something like this could seriously effect the amount of visitors/customers that come to my site if the site takes longer to load etc, as I'm sure the isps would want silly amounts to be on their 'faster' scheme.

    Down with the ISPs.

To be honest with you, if everybody switches from virgin and goes to an ISP that doesn't do this, they'll all soon get the idea.
