Now that MySpace has added so many features to block links from being posted on bulletins and such, it seems as though MySpace traffic would be almost useless, or impossible to get. Any ideas on this?
MySpace blocks links from being posted on bulletins? Not to the best of my knowledge...I did some bulletins last Saturday and they worked fine. I think MySpace traffic is pretty much useless unless it's somewhat targeted (i.e you're directing a bodybuilding fan group to a bodybuilding site).
It changes all of the link forwards to msplinks.com.. ...its still slightly effective... however, slowwwwww... really slow. Its better to not waste much time on there... or maybe pay for an ad... ^_^
It is not worth it, it is more akin to spamming than marketing, I really don't think it is good for your image.
Yea these were all my thoughts... Ikaruga I think puremonopoly already mentioned this, but all links you post in bulletins are redirected to their msplinks.com (not sure if that's exactly it). It's annoying, and doesn't really give the users an idea of where they are clicking, so they are less likely to click. It seems as though MySpace marketing has gone down the tubes.
Myspace is not meant for marketing in the first place, to do so is more or less black hat. I would expect them to impose restrictions as much as possible to prevent their site from being a spammer's heaven.
use myspace comment zones on your friends areas to bolster hits for your youtube content to gain popularity....
I use it occasionally. I do blog posts and put a link there to my site with more information. That seems to work pretty well.
It depends what you are trying to market. You have to remember that Myspace is mostly made up of teenage people.
