I have had two accounts deleted that I used for the promotion of two of my websites. I would say they are clamping down. The
U talking to me??!!! er, I only made almost 5,000 requests on the day I entered da world of mySpace, almost 500 on each of 10 accounts...and quickly learned that you get locked out when you do that many!!!
im not really sure about that. i have 40 accounts some are new and some are old (a month now) lately i see no changes on my friends added number =S
I would think that as long as you behave and actually use the MySpace account for what it is intended to be use for and don't get complain, there is no reasons why they would cut your account.
The reason a lot of people here are noticing cuts though is because they're not using them how they're intended to be used. They're using them predominantly for marketing.
Well, probably true. but if there is anyone on my list of friends that use it for marketing, their account would be banned from my Myspace list of friends that is unless they are musicians that I enjoy listening to.
I agree with you completely. I despise getting requests from people trying to market their sites or products, and I'm the first to report them too, especially if it's a private spammed message (I get tons of that garbage) or a fake profile. I'm just glad Myspace is finally cracking down on this crap, b/c it's been ruining the site for quite a while now.
On my 3 old accounts i add 500 friends a day with no problems, i tried creating a new one and did the same and it got deleted after 2 days..
Thank you MySpace for cleaning up the place. I think everyone should have only 1 and not more than 2 accounts and use it for what it is made to be. I mean, I know it is a great place to meet new friends from across the globe but no matter how easy it can be done, friendship should not be reduced to a contest on how many friends you can add in a day. Friendship is not something you take lightly, you can buy goods and services but you cannot buy friends and friendship. Add people only if you intend to talk to or have some genuine interest in or have some shared interests. Take the time to get to know the people on your list and you be surprise how much you can learn from them and who knows something concrete might come out of it. I can sell my websites but I will never sell out my friends.
