    Hi,

I wrote a blog post the other day. I sent it out to various social bookmark groups and it was picked up by google.
a few days later another domain site asked if they could re-print the article on their site - i said yes as i thought it would be a good backlink to have.
So today i go to google and type the name of the post into google and they are at number one and i am nowhere to be seen - and i mean nowhere.
does anyone know what's going on? - Is my site invisible or something - i wrote the article first, so i would assume i'd be higher than them.

just in case you're interested the article title is:
Is your current Domain strategy working for you? No. Then change it fast!
The site i let use it is called DomainInformer.com and my site is Namecake.com

This SEo business is starting to become a pain in the butt.

    Thanks for any advice.

Do a Google search for "Is your current Domain strategy working for you? No. Then change it fast!" be sure to include the "quotes"

You will find 7 different websites with that same article, and your is included.

You always run the risk that copying stuff from a low ranking site onto a higher ranking site will put theirs higher. Having duplicate content could cause google to drop one of them.

I can see your website result first.
one thing you might want to do is to interlink keywords within your site, it might not help resolve this issue, but it might pass on link juice to more of your articles and overall might be better for your site.
btw, i did smile to read your post and ur problem "Is your current Domain strategy working for you" :)
and i am sure in a few days, this page will rank on top for this search phrase..

You should always ask for a dofollow backlink when people try to syndicate content from you. I see 'digitalpoint' on top when I search :)

Thanks for the comments guys - so basically all i need is some more backlinks and be considered an authority and then my articles/posts will rise in the engines.
Can anyone spot any glaring on page SEO errors with the site?

Buntoo - you mention interlinking ketwords within the site - i was wondering if you could explain this a little as i'm unsure of what this is?

    Thanks
