hey, i just made this website and was hoping for some feedback if the overal design looked ok. Thanks!
If you are referring to http://www.silverhosting.us/ then you should definitely work on the home page. It looks like you are trying to sell web hosting but your homepage doesn't give the details needed for potential customers to make a decision to use your company or someone like hostmonster or hostgator. You need to say it all on your homepage for a hosting site to sell space. Tell people why your service is better than others...
Try and use more images to convey your specials, pricing, and guarantees. Look at HostGator or even HostPear
Aside from the obvious name, I think it looks more like a teenager's blog than a web hosting company. It doesn't have the feel of a web hosting company, try taking away the logo and asking people what they think you do. Ideally, it should be obvious what you do for this type of company without having to read a single word otherwise people will just click away and try to find soemwhere that looks right. Oh, and for God's sake, please resize that Drupal logo properly - it's sooo unprofessional to use a massive image and just use the HTML code to resize it, it makes it look all jagged and messy, and it takes longer for the page to load than it needs to.
In my opinion web design should say what you are doing. For example if you are selling web hosting than the design should say that you are selling it. In other words design shuold make first impression. So if i go to your web site my first immpresion would be that it's a blog. My offer for you would be to get a new design.
There seems to be to much going on in it. You need to focus on the content. at the moment your eye just wonders around the page and you aren't sure what your meant to be looking at. Colour scheme doesn't seem right either.
Sorry mate but I don't like it at all. (I'm a designer also). The nav bar is good, the modern style is very appreshiated on the internet at the moment so stick with that. Then idealy you want a clear logo. You will want to organise the page better, it looks like cramped up text. Check out your major competition and see what they do, because no doubt they paid good money for a reason. Or you could hire me
The site up there now isn't the same one we all commented on, I think they're redeveloping it to make it better.
Great Colors, good header...there are some very nice elements but over all very busy! Unless it's a blog I hate seeing posts on the front page (if it has to be done try doing it at the bottom of the page). More visuals too...if people can't get to the point of the website in a few seconds they aren't going to stay!
