Haven't been on myspace for like 4 years, I think that Facebook stole %98 of there traffic. But any social networking site is great to advertise on.
Yeah, I'd assume what Hack-Tech said. Although it can't hurt to use it, it probably won't result in any huge rewards. You never know, though.
Most of the myspace user was moved to facebook. They are facing a huge drop in member. Sad for the myspace
MySpace is in a completely different category than Facebook right now. If you are asking, is it "dead" as far as back and forth interaction between individuals, which was its original intent? Then yes, MySpace is "dead" I suppose. But MySpace is not about back and forth conversation anymore....it's about music!! It is probably the best place on the web to play On Demand music...because it's one of the only places where the bands themselves have allowed free access to their music. Sure, you can PAY at other sites or for other services, but MySpace is free. That is the only way for smaller social networks to survive anymore - -become a purveyor of content, find a niche that is not being filled, and focus solely on that niche. I don't think Facebook is going anywhere anytime soon! So that is the only strategy in my opinion. MySpace found a niche...Friendster did not (they were once almost as big!), so Friendster is GONE now!
I consider MySpace as a thing in the past... FaceBook took everything Now, the question is: How much longer will FaceBook stay alive?
myspace is good for blog creation and we will getting good amount of traffic so i think Myspace and Facebook are different thing dont compare them
I know a few very young teens who use MySpace. It still seems to be popular for some niches - musicians, tatoo places, that sort of stuff. For most other niches it looks like Facebook and Twitter have taken over.
Myspace died in 09. Right now, FB has 98% of social networking traffic. Myspace did get lucky with its music niche. Fb's popularity isnt going to drop anytime soon. It has too much support. I mean, a MOVIE is just coming out about the story behind it. Its called "The Social Network"
In my opinion, for marketing purposes, myspace is better for marketing. Facebook has been cracking down so hard... limiting what you can do, marketing wise. Just think, on myspace you can have all the friends want. on facebook, 5000? that is lame. fanpages are going down the drain quick, groups get deleted fast and even making spam wall posts is getting harder. Myspace rules i pull in 70 to 80 dollars a day from it.
They keep changing it to try and stop the exodus to Facebook... but in my view it keeps getting worse.
Although i am on myspace.com but I think Facebook is more better option than myspace. A lot of organic traffice from fracebook where not so much from myspace is the proof.
I agree with what everyone else said here about Facebook taking Myspace's traffic and participation...with the exception of maybe music / bands. Of course they use Facebook now too, but I've noticed fans still like the familiarity of Myspace and the playlists. So depending on your niche, maybe there's still a way to utilize Myspace in some way.
not completely dead but its lying down in the ER right next to friendster. give it another year or two and they'll be six feet under right next to geocities, altavista, excite, etc.
