I know how important it is to have a user friendly site, so can you tell me honestly if my site is from visual (first look perspective).

    My website is: SymbianGalaxy.org

Thanks + Appreciate as much as honesty and feedback as possible!

    AAH, FRESH MEAT...

So... a forums as a website instead of actually having a website with content for people to discuss in the forums?

In any case - color choices are all good. No contrast issues, in that department it's fine.

Font sizes are a **** though. It's all in PX fonts so users like me on large fonts/120dpi do not automatically get our larger fonts. Looks like a great number of your fixed size fonts are well below 12px making them effectively illegible at native resolution on a wide variety of hardware at default zoom - on my own system (24" LCD @ 1920x1200) I'm forced to zoom in 50% to bring the text up to a comfortable level - I should be able to get 25% out of my system settings as the default so it's even below minimums on normal machines.

Though besides the font size nitpicks that it looks like a stock vBulletin template - so there's not a whole lot to pick apart... Though I would suggest cleaning up the 40-60 validation errors present on most of the pages.

It looks great, very easy on the eyes, good color contrast as well...categories are easy to follow, the only thing I see that could be matched is the blue bar at the bottom should not have white borders on the sides..but other than that, good job!

Personally I would make the main categories (Symbian Galaxy, Mobile Phone Galaxy, etc.) color a tad darker. Other than that it looks very nice!

I think it needs more contrast. Making background (left&right) white would make it easier to focus on post titles and other content. Other than that it's visually good.

The pages generated by that forum skin is invalid markup - in other words there are errors in the HTML code generated by the forum. That it renders properly in most browsers is that you are relying on the error correcting behavior of the browser instead of the proper behavior of the browser.

    As evidenced by:
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=h...(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0

The main index has 177 errors, that's not even HTML, it's gibberish. The only reason I don't completely rage against it on this site is the stock vBulletin template has anywhere from 60-80 errors - though it's another of the reasons I wonder where they get the nerve to charge for it.

In any case, you go through that list and fix the output from the program - so if it breaks in a future "flavor of the month" browser you don't have to wade through those errors before getting to what's really wrong.

It much better to work something about that error..Living coding error in your website will reduce the user friendly % of your site in future.

In the short term, if it's working in all the current browsers not much. In the long term...

The next 'flavor of the month' browser could break the whole layout.

If you decide to add or remove elements in the future, the errors could cause those elements to malfunction badly until you fix them.

Errors of that nature make it near impossible to figure out what exactly is making it malfunction when/if it does.

etc, etc, etc. Fixing that sort of thing is in this case 'future planning'. Leaving them in is, well, generating headaches for yourself moving forward or for whoever has to maintain the site next.

As I've said a few times, with that many errors it's not HTML, it's gibberish - and if you can't be bothered to actually write HTML and not non-validating gibberish, you shouldn't be writing a website.

I would say that it looks pretty good. I like your use of soft colours, especially that you have kept the overall theme to a nice blue. Qualities of good design. Your banner is nice, very modern and trendy looking :)

It looks very good. But I don't like the green link hover on the navi... . It does not fit in my view. But everything else looks really good! I like it.
