Is my site over-optimized?

    I'm trying to rank for "snowblower" and "snow blower." I have some anchor text links from ok sources (one is PR6 but unreleted), but snow blower sites are few and far between so no directly relevant links. Other sites on the same topic with similar backlinks are ranking much better than mine.

    Am I being penalized here? How can I improve my SEO?

    I am not getting you... What is over-optimization? why you are talking unethical?

    I think continually work with patience is essential for SEO. Please do these things to improve your website-Link submission, article submission, forum posting, and blogging etc.
