Is my site in the sandbox?

    My sites www.goalierthanthou.com and www.adsenseoptimized.com have been up since august of this year, so about 4 months. Both get some Google SE results, approx 5-10 a day, but after doing a lot of good SEO work for more competitive terms, I've seen no hits from those terms in any SE for that matter. Is it possible that I'm in the sandbox even though my site gets some Google traffic?

    I didn't really look, but if you rank really well in the other 2 big engines, then yes you probably are. Also are your most competitive keywords nowhere to be found in the big G?

    there are other posts/threads with similar topic and similar causes
    you may want to check them all

    for example on your domain http://www.adsenseoptimized.com/
    the first several lines are messed up

    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Adsense SEO! Learn how to SEO Adsense!</title>
    <meta name="description" content="Learn how to SEO Adsense to make your living from this contextual advertising program Google offers. SEO Adsense!">
    <meta name="keywords" content="SEO Adsense, SEO, Adsense, Adsense learn, Optimize Adsense, Adsense Help, tip, tips, secret">
    </head>
    <table border="1" width="780" height="800" cellspacing="0" bordercolor="#CCCCFF" cellpadding="5">
    <tr>
    <td width="160" valign="top" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" cellspacing="4" cellpadding="4">

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

    <html>
    <head>

    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>

    color code:

    does NOT belong here at all

    belongs toline ONE of a HTML document

    there are double tags but only ONE is allowed at the RIGHT place

    there may be many more code errors
    a clean page can be crawled aind processed cleanly
    you may want to change all these and revalidate you page
    see

    http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http://www.adsenseoptimized.com/

    you may find help from
    W3Schools online tutorials

    your site
    www.goalierthanthou.com/

    http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http://www.goalierthanthou.com/
    Result: Failed validation,

    ... means that the code is so extremelyh wrong tht the validator fails to give anerror output at all
    the worst of all errors situations as YOU may have to carefully check line by line.

    usually THIS particular error occurs in extreme mess up of illegal character sets used in editing a file

    if validator can NOT parse the page - googlebot most likely may also fail to parse said file

    TIP:
    always solve your errors from TOP to bottom
