You have to keep adding backlinks, if you stop adding links your site will fall back into the "quicksand"...
Eventually your site will get out of the sandbox and stick for your keywords.

How many backlinks you have for your site? I would suggest a dozen links on some high Pr pages.

It's common for new sites to get a high ranking, but it only lasts a short period of time. A one month old site can't be expected to rank well for a highly competitive keyword. It can take between 90 days to a year before you'll start seeing good results- so just keep improving your site and building quality backlinks. High rankings are a process, not an event.

Had this problem myself when in the 1st and 2nd month of my website. they guy above is right your site will rank well for a grace period sometime for keywords. Then the it will sink back in the sandbox. Try to get 1,000+ Y!links.
As for google backlinks I don't know. Google doesn't report backlinks for me. Eventually if your site is revelant and you keep building backlinks it will stick and stop disappearing.

just keep link building.. it should be a non stop process.. if you stop, or stop having new content, your SERP positions will fall.
