Hey everyone just a quick question. My website is now ranking in the top positions I would like it to rank for, the only problem is that now when I search for my site threw Google and click on my web site my competitors website pops up. I think someone may have installed some script to automatically redirect my visitors through an affiliate link. Its incredibly unusual and the affiliate that it redirects my site to just so happens to be my largest competitor? What is also weird is if you click back after clicking on my site and follow the Google link again, it takes you to my site. Does anyone have any insight on this situation? here is my website info: www.creditrepairfirms.net Here is my site through G its the top one CREDIT REPAIR FIRMS USA DIRECTORY http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...avclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_enUS320US320&ie=UTF-8
Haha that is very weird are you sure you are getting to my site, and not Lexington Laws site? Maybe I have some crazy spyware on my computer that makes peoples affiliate links go threw when you click on relevant sites?
Sounds like malware to me!! Check this out: http://www.pchelpforum.com/new-hija...follow-these-instructions-before-posting.html This is another forum I'm part of. But if you submit your logs, you'll have an actual security member check them over for malware. It's much better than a programmed response from any anti-spyware application you might have installed on your PC.
Here is the deal. I got there too. If it is your site, it was the same url. This browser hijack could be your own browser being hijacked. This can happen if you do a lot of research and hit the wrong site. Get the software called "hijack this" and see what BHO's are on your browser. Personally, I let very few things plugin to my browser, but everyone is different. Some like toolbars, I hate them. But it is the right url. Black site, really bright look and feel. Is that yours? Very nice aesthetically. This thread is in the wrong forum though... Isn't it? Not that I am the DP police or anything
I went to your site directly, with no problems. Check you webstats too see if you are receiving traffic or not from Google.
Awesome thanks alot guys I think I figured it out. I DLed Hijack this and ran it and the problem seized! Sorry if this was the wrong place for this thread. I really appreciate everybody trying to help me out!
Hijack this is a good tool to have. That is what I thought is was... Damn, you mean I actually learned something after being involved with computers for 30 years OMG! Good deal, glad you hammered it out.
Thanks for sharing the "hijack this" ... for a while I was having a problem sort of like that... got rid of a desktop program that uses ACTIVE X and all is better. Allowing Active X or using a desktop program that requires Active X was like having a wide open door for spyware, virus problems, etc.
well if you thinks someone added a script to your site just check your sites coding to see if there is anything odd on your sites. you may want to check any ad network on your site, through some it is possible for people to write javascript code that redirects people that land on your page when their ad is on your site.
