how long does my website take to load and how to optimize images? It takes my 3Mbps DSL about 20seconds to load my page fully until IE says DONE. It seems the button images on the bottom of my page take ages to load. How long does it take you to load my site www.linkdumptube.com ?? And those buttons are Links to other sites. they are not hosted on my site. any tips to make them load faster? Is my hostgator shared server the problem,or the buttons?
YOur site loads fast but the buttons from other sites are taking long time to load. Either host them to your server(they wont consume much bandwidth as they are shown at index alone) or use image hosting sites.
Anytime you are calling in images from another site/server, it's going to eat up load time, especially if you have alot of them as you do. Best bet is to put those images in your server space.
i have tried hosting the buttons on my own server but the buttons don't load. i saved the .bmp image,uploaded it to my server,changed the hyperlink for the image so it links to the image on my server,BUT the buttons don't load then. Why is this?
Can you post here an example button with the link upload on other server and ink uploaded on your server.
