Is my friend's site in the sandbox?

My friend has been optimizing his website, Virtual pet list.com for "virtual pet" and "virtual pets", however it has been almost 7 months now and he's still not ranked in the top 20.

Is he in the sandbox? Because on some of google's datacenter's, he shows up #15 or so, but not on all.

    What should he do?

The only thing to do is to build links, create good content and wait until the site gets ranked higher.

If he has rankings on 1 datacenter then its probably not sandboxed.

    I wouldn't agree.

On some datacenters could get faster out from sandbox.
On seochat forum they put ip's of datacenters on which some sites end with sandbox and on others they are still in sandbox.

Obviously if the site is sandboxed on one datacenter and not on another its likely that the changes will take a few days/weeks to propagate across all datacenters.......

So, do you think he should continue on adding unique content, and building up quality links?

Both ;) I think both need to be done to get anywhere. What are results like from other search engines?

This should be a continual process.

Of course, but what do you think about adding new content on a daily basis?
    Is that good?

Yes it is. Addding fresh content will definately get your site crawlled more often. Google and other search engines highly recommeds to do so.

It is possible to get high ranking in MSN & Yahoo quicker than in Google. Just continue adding content, and building links for the time being.
