    Hi there,

I own speakup (forum in my sig) I made it as a general forum with discussion and just chat. It was very popular but has died down a lot now. I spoke to some people and they said that general forums do not get anywhere. Any ideas on if I should change or in what direction I should go in, what I should focus on etc.

I did have a general forum - it did work.

I had quizes which actually attracted members to join to take part. Arcades, a shop so when you psot you get points and then buy items. A battle system - each member had a RPG account and could battle other members to gain levels. The arcade winner / battle system winner would recieve $ on paypal.

However - i look at yours, all i see is "Please Register To View The Forum" - that won't work. Personally - i would like to see the forum before registering.

I do know a few things or too about forums ;)

Hope this was a little help.

No, that isnt correct. General Forums work very well but you need some active topics as well.

Few paid posters might be the solution but not sure. SEO is needed for sure.
