Is my Forum Being Crawled?

    Its weird, I get like two threads out of 300 posts indexed in Google. There are way more informative longer posts in my forum. All of the permissions are set right. Keywords and content is there.. Any thoughts? Site has been up for about 2 weeks.

    Cheers.

    2 weeks is a very short time for any kind of indexing. You likely don't have enough quality back links to get the search engine spiders crawling your site on a regular basis. Some of your posts may also be ending up in Google's supplemental index.

    Try placing a link of one of the 300 post that are not be crawled into the two threads that are be crawled. This should force the spider to at least index those other post, once their crawled. If it works keep doing it, that method worked well for me on two of my sited. Once you see the url of the new post in google, then you can remove it and place some other url of a post that's not indexed. I hope this works for you.

    maybe when you get links try to get more deeplinks it means not links just to your homepage but also to the other pages that you want to have indexed

    2 weeks is not enough to be indexed but i know a meta tag, this may be invite googlebot to index your site , if you are in doubt.
    <meta name="googlebot" content="index, follow">
    shall be in the head section of your index page of the site

    took me 2 months to get my forum (vbulletin) got indexed, still only indexed 500+ out of 4000, coz some of the threads and posts are kept changing, i guess... patience is virtue.

    give a month, you will see the difference.

    That's just what Google is showing, but in webmasters it will show you all external links to your site. Patience Patience.

    I have had one forum up and running for about 2 months and in the early days it was not spidered very often but as the site matures and started to build backlinks so has the spiders started on a daily bases.It will take time.
