Is my domain suitable for a web directory ?

I have following domain name.

www.webcity.tv

I am thinking of starting a web directory. Do you think the domain is suitable for a web directory.

Please suggest and vote.

.TV as a directory ? Most domains with a .tv extension tend to be in the entertainment industry.

 

The domain is brandable for an entertainment site and not a directory site IMO..

 

.tv as a directory is not suitable , you can look for other extensions like .com , .net , .org , .us e.t.c

 

Nope. A .tv domain does not fit a web directory site.

 

I think the name can be used for a web directory even though it's a .tv, probably not the best extention, but it's still easy enough to remember & it's catchy. But if you can, I'd stick to a .com

 

Personally i would say it is not ideal for a webdirectory, doesn't mean you cant still use it for that reason as i see all types of names and extensions for directories, a .tv could be a first though in the directory world, or rare at least.

Sometimes a directory owner will choose a name not immediately associated with directories but they may have a plan of creating a brand.

 

find some .com domain, i don't even register domains that are not .com

 

and i heared that tv domain is expencive...

 

I also! not suggest to use this domain for a directory! because as extension appears it's for any media channel or agency! you can use with some tld! it will work

 

No , get com,org,net,info...

 

Agree , tv is good if you want to create a directory for TV stations ... ( by city )
