is my domain so important?

    Hi,
I never sold a website/a domain, therefore I am totally new in this area. Someone asked me to sell him my domain - daniel2design.com and give me $5000. I think that it is too much and he tries to cheat me (I still didn't figured out how). Could you estimate the value of this domain? I sell the website, but he wants to buy only the domain. Many thanks.

He's a scammer. I'll take bets he tells you that he needs to pay you more than the $5k because he needs to send money to a business association or a car hire company or (fill in the blank). He will send you a cheque for the money and ask you to send the extra to his partner in crime. Your bank will then realise the cheque was fake and withdraw the money from your account. Meanwhile, you have paid your own money to his scamming partner and have no way of getting it back.

If you want a bit of fun, you could play the game for a while and see if you can find out exactly what the scam is, so you can warn others. Just don't part with any money or part with the domain name or content.

Might be your domain could have a good authority and backlinks and that is the reason he could have chosen this domain.

It seems like a scam or trapping you,
People want to make money through these types of scams, sad but true.

Depends on who is interested to buy your domain. I wouldn't, however sell it before the payment is provided.

He may ask for you to get an appraisal through another company.
While some are saying your domain is only worth $100 to you it is worth much, much more if you put a price to all the time it will take you to get around clients, social media etc updating your email to your new email address. I'd be asking much more than $5k!
