Is my domain name so ugly?

    Hello

Is my adult domain name so ugly? (SexAndPornSite.com) I've intended to sell it in a lot of places (the last place in SitePoint.com: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/14680 , 2 days to end), without any bid.

The domain has been appraised at $6,250 in domainsecondhand.com. What I'm doing bad?

    Thanks

There's no way that domain is worth anything close to that kind of money.

I'm trying to sell the domain name. I'm trying to begin a "career" as "domainer", but it's not so easy.

But I was trying to sell it for less than 50U$D. But now, I offer it for 300$ because I've invested 280$+ in appraisal, listings, ads, etc. :(

    What I'm doing wrong?

I wouldnt waste money on appraisals. There are plenty of domain name related forums (namepros, domainstate and even here) that offer decent appraisals. I have only been a "domainer" since August 07, and have been learning constantly every day. I recommend namepros and domainstate forums as they have helped me increase my knowledge.

yup, a lot of sites out there offer free appraisals that are usually better

was your appraisal, or by someone in person? if your buying an apprasail they might buffer it up a bit to make it more worth it to you (their appraisal)

Just my opinion, but generally four word domains don't go for very much, if anything.

you'd better invest in that website... try to hire someone or get a coder that knows joomla and you can post free videos on it or something.

from what i've seen, domain name is 3 months 25 days old... and you can't even think that in 3 month from 10$ [the initial registration fee] you'll get at least 300$. if something like that would've happened now all of us would have been little Bill Gates'.

maybe you should leave it in parking.

I've read that the service of domainsecondhand.com is not automatic. In their home page, they say:
A "domainer" that is my friend recommended me to make an appraisal with this company. But, I think that they is the only people who appraise it domains in this company (or anyone of you do it?)

Now I know that there are free forums that offer appraisals (thanks, rentmydn).

So, after all... Really my domain name sucks?
How much do you think that is the value of it?

    Sorry for my bad English

Starting out & having a career as a purely domainer isn't really something that would be easy these days. Unless you have a lot of money to buy domains, it's just not going to happen.

Where can I get free content for this site? (well, maybe this question is for the "Content" section of this forum.

:D or little "Christian Chena"s :D (I am from Paraguay too)

It is parked since july 2007, with CTR floating around 16%, but with few traffic. :(

Don't invest money into that type of stuff. Invest into quality domain names, I recommend checking out NamePros.com in the Domain Name Discussion part. LLLL.com's are hot right now, you may want to get yourself into those.

Generally when it comes to domain names, a good rule of thumb to use is that if the domain name is less than a year old it is usually not worth $10, unless there is a website with traffic already built up or at least good indexing.

Name is not ugly, but the outcome certainly is turning out to be ugly ... but don't give up, who knows someone would really run after you to sell this domain after a few days, weeks or months. Patience my friend... would yield good results.

    Cheers
