Hello DP Members I have purchased a domain name i.e. gh-themes.com I would like to know your suggestions regarding the domain name is it Good enough and SEO friendly.. Any Suggestions
i think hyphen is the mistake i made while buying the domain what if i put quality content will it be indexed...
In the past, domain names matter a lot for SEO but not anymore. In fact, last year, google did a crackdown on EMD or exact domain match. So many site were either de-indexed or reduced in page rank. What matters now are the following. Feel free to disagree with me: Quality and Unique content- lots of it. Successful internet marketers now aim for authority websites. You can't gain authority with poor quality and spun content. Create content that people will read, subscribe to and most importantly share. Backlinks - yes, backlinks still works but not the spammy types anymore. Diversify your backlink sources and focus on quality than quantity. The more sites link to you, the more authoritative your website becomes. Social Signals- I believe it started mid last year that social media marketing plays a huge role in authority and page rank. Unlike back links, social shares, likes and pluses are real votes from real people and these can't be done unnaturally unlike backlinks. So for me, the domain name you chose is ok though not ideal. You will still need to keep a brand name. Unless gh stands for something then it's fine.
I Agree with you bro .... i will focus on quality content , and gh will be my brand name as i thought before buying it ..... Thanks a Lot man for your valuable suggestion
No. They shot down useless and crappy sites. Not sites because they used EMD. But as said, the domain itself has relatively little weigh on how well it actually ranks. And if the hyphen is a mistake, then why the F didn't you return the domain and correct your mistake?
