http://www.shoppdc.com It's a free classifieds site for my town. I'm just finishing it up, the current ads are tests/jokes from my sister. I'm thinking of dropping the "Upcoming Events" category so it is an even 2 rows. Once I get some traffic I'll put some sort of ads up. Thanks for your time EDIT: I took out the "Upcoming Events".
It looks fine. That was the biggest problem I found with that script. That and breaking it when I tried to change something.
I think it looks nice, very simple, and subtle colour schemes. Although, aren't there enough classifieds sites?
Clean design and nice colors, only one thing “click here..†link is not on the proper place… Make it as a banner and place it to the right in the logo row. Lines in the logo also don’t look too good. Transparent rhombs would look better.
I like noahs classifieds and use it on one of my sites (http://www.tladb.com). I would spice up the template a little bit by getting a custom design for it. Looks a little too... eh, turnkey?
Hey, now it's working.. I added a post to the miscelaneous section. Good Job. I really like the site and the idea...
Thanks for the feedback everyone. As far as cutom templates and stuff goes, I'm not going to do that because I really don't think this site will be used much. There's only 6,000 people in my town. I know the "Click here..." link is out of place, but I'm not smart enough to change the php code to move it. Also, sorry rideswitch, but the site is only for the Praire du Chien, WI area so I have to delete your post. Thanks for testing it though Oh ya, I have "officially" launched it now. I'm having my mom hang a poster thing at City Hall so hopefully some people will see it. I'm not sure if the newspaper will let me buy an ad, because it will take away from their business.
Sorry, I already took it off. It's ok if businesses post stuff, but only if those businesses are located in the Prairie du Chien area.
Nice looking design. Easy to follow. Keep in mind that your layout and design techniques should keep the working class and sometimes non-tech savvy people in mind as far as ease of use and navigation goes. With that said, it seems you've done a great job of this.
