Is My Blog Getting Spammed With Comments?

    Hi guys,

    I launched my company blog a little over 2 weeks ago for tips and guides for webmasters. My site did (and still does) have a low volume of visitors - literally almost no visitors, and I have done no advertising yet. However I have already recieved 10 comments from unknown visitors, and they are all coming from different IP addresses.

    All the comments are very generic and don't really specify anything to do with the post itself, and they started coming in before I even put a link to the blog from the main site!

    The comments don't look obviously spam-like, but they are all of pretty poor english and every single one has entered a URL to be linked!

    Here are some sample comments I have recieved;

    Like I said, there has been no advertising to this blog, so I don't even know how these 'visitors' are finding my articles and posting comments, or is it just a bot sent to improve inbound links for all these websites? If so, will they harm my blog -how should I deal with them?

    Thanks,
    Michael

    Remove the "URL" field from your theme and figure out a way to not parse links in comments. They won't bother posting on your blog.

    This is a comment problem for everyone but nothing to worry.
