is my adwords campaign failing?

I put $100 into google awords like 5 days ago, and it looks like this

    Content Network - 7,180 impressions 8 clicks, $1.80
    Overall Performance - 7,495 impressions 11 clicks, $2.20

I have only had 3 clicks from the 20 keywords I picked from. And only like 6 of them have impressions in the double digits.

This is my first time using awords. I am using it for my history forum and chose keywords like ancient rome, world history, religious history, ancient egypt and so on.

    - add more keywords (all broad match): use keyword tool
also add a lot of negative keywords to improve the CTR of the existing one.

    - Add more ads: write 6 ads per ad group you have: the system will select automatically the better CTR ads for you

I have a basic website that I built with FrontPage and I want to begin
selling with Google Checkout. Has anyone tried Mercantec for this?

Try those terms with phrase "" and exact match []. That way you can get more targeted traffic. Also, dig for more keywords using the keyword tool. Is "history forum" one of your keywords? That should be in your list.

Another factor may be your ad copy. Try to write different ads and test them against each other. Usually something catchy will draw more clicks.

    Good luck!

Dude you spammed all the other SEM forums with exactly the same post. Geez how about being a little more creative?
