Is MSN Shoing fewer backlinks?

    Has anyone else noticed a drop in your MSN backlinks, or is it just me?

    If it's not me, do you think they're pulling a Google and only showing a some links, or are footer links dropping out of their index (block level analysis we've heard about)?

    Yeah, I think it is hit or miss. I have seen it seem to display backlinks from seperate databases. Sometimes it is about half of what it was previously, then it goes back to normal. Maybe they are trying to implement showing a sampling of backlinks like G.

    I have noticed the same thing daily. Oddly if I look in the morning my MSN backlinks are less, then by afternoon they have jumped up above the previous day.

    msn is slowly for me these days (less bl's and little pages chached), while google jumps up! I've seen Yahoo is also a bit slow at indexing new pages and new links.

    MSN is in flux with their index and this leads me to believe that with the change in the index will also change the BLs indexed. I am still seeing MSN index BLs and pages faster than yahoo or google. I just believe that MSN is going through some growing pains. Give it time it will all work its self out.

    Some times, links are reaching around 1000 and then dropping back to around 200. Too much up and down.

    Today they're back up to 155, sort of. If you click to see the second page of results, the number drops from 155 to 72. What's the point of using MSN to check links if it's so erratic? Are people using Yahoo now?

    Yep, started noticing it recently, either that or they're just not showing all of the BLs like Google does. I went from 8000+ BLs to just over 1000, according to MSN. Strange indeed.

    The only thing i've noticed is that the static links appear first... The others (coop) appear torwards the end!

    I almost posted the same question the other day. Past couple of months msn is showing less bls than yahoo for us. When msn came out of the gate it was like a mad man. It used to show way more bls than yahoo or google.

    I ve noticed a bit of fluxuation in the msn backlinks area, but over time it seems to go up pretty steadily.
