I think the only people that use MSN are the internet newbies that open the browser and land on the msn page and search.
Actually, for some sites / products I find MSN (and Yahoo) convert much better than Google. The new Live.com SERPS are crazy. For one of my sites, I've held the #1 position for almost all of my keywords for the last year in MSN. Live has bumped me back 4 or 5 spots.
when I went to search engine strategies convention, MSN had the dumbest mofos there to represent them
I gave up with MSN a few months back. Though I still get a fair ammount of traffic from them. I actually do better with ask and have better conversions. Go figure!!!
They need to learn how to properly treat 301 redirects as well. They keep trying to index mine. example: - http://cc.msnscache.com/cache.aspx?q=4405072175164&lang=en-GB&mkt=en-GB&FORM=CVRE
Same here. A lot of people I get from Ask turn into proper users or even new members. Must be very specific results.
Don't underestimate the potential for MSN search (now live search). It is the default search for IE7 and will be for Vista as well. Vista will include desktop search also based on Live Search. So, chances are good that a significant number of people will be using live more often. The quality of results may not improve over time, but traffic probably will. /tom/
sigh, msn is pretty spammy to me, which is why i stick to Google for search. yahoo for email... msn? hmmm, i use their messenger!
MSN always seems to keep really old pages too. Like i maybe get 10x more results from MSN than i do from google.
When ever I search for any site I am getting the axactly site what I want. what type of sites you are getting other than the right one.
