Search "buy wii" http://search.msn.co.uk/results.aspx?q=buy+wii&FORM=MSNH Second result down instead of returning the sites homepage it returns the only other page in the website which is the link page. Why does it do that? Notting
wow....so I am not the only one who think that the msn search is returnign irrelevant results...check this out... http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=online+bachelor+degree&FORM=MSNH #4 - 4bachelordegree.blogspot.com - The link actually opens to http://www.top-finance-search.com/search.php?aff=16637&q=BACHELOR+DEGREE well...MSN has a long way to go....
msn search is too concerned with fresh content. the links page changes often and this is why it is ranked
Humm.. this is new thing I am also seeing from last months. When I search for my own site's keyword it shows my site at #1, #2, #7 and #9 And am happy with it. It has its drawbacks and benifits
developing on the msn search has not finihed yet . msn has many points to be improved. if you make a search with non english language , msn does not show the nonenglish letter on search result page
but they do show backlinks accurately... whether or not the backlinks are 'spammish' is another matter. that's why i prefer to use msn for backlinks checking.
I know it doesn't work very well but my sites are well ranked so i like it . However i don't use it for my searches.
Exacly the problem. Webmasters like it because it ranks them well, but then they hate it because it brings them 0.0001% of the volume of traffic compared to Google. That's probably why no one uses it, BECAUSE it ranks them well so easily, which is a quality problem.
Absolutely no traffic. Also the very litle ammount of people that use msn are not techie. They use it just because it's the defaul. Webmasters know google works better, my sites are all for webmasters.
Because the site uses frames and I think it links to the links page more than it links to the homepage. This makes MSN think its the most important page.
Still going strong: http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?..."&mkt=en-US&form=QBRE&go.x=0&go.y=0&go=Search
msn has SERIOUS problems at the minute in terms of how it deals with duplicate content as well. A few people have pointed out how easy it is to get a competitors website wiped from the MSN results.
