Is Monopoly outdated?

My question is this. Do you think monopoly is outdated and has failed to evolve? As a child i loved it but as an adult it seems like it is a bit limiting. Don't you think it would be better if they added more elements to the game? Eg stock market, gambling etc? What does everyone think?

 

I really loved playing that about 2-3 years ago. In fact, I used to play
that almost everyday with my siblings. But we got bored with it day
by day. I think your idea is useful enough for that game to regain their
popularity in board games.

 

Since there is no real choice in Monopoly - you basically always buy property - it is a bit too luck feeling. There is a great space version called Solar Quest from years ago, which is just like Monopoly, but you choose to remain in orbit or leave orbit, giving more of an option and making it more fun.

 

Monopoly will never be outdated, I like it so much I even play it on my computer

It's a classic, whats not to like? Of course its outdated, thats part of it's charm

 

I would *love* to see this game updated with an internet marketing spin. Instead of buying property for instance, players could buy internet businesses (websites, opt-in lists, etc.). Would be great if the game taught the basic principals of online entrepreneurship as well!

 

Monopoly will never be outdated.Its really a
wonderful and enjoyable game.The new features
makes its more interesting and love to play.

 

No way it is out dated, im always looking for the best new video games but I still jump at the chance to play monopoly.

OMFG Off topic.. but I tried to code Monopoly on VB last year... hardest thing I've ever done. Never actually finished it either.
