For each one hundred of Windows PCs, laptops and netbooks out there you can find only 1 Mac so I don't see the battle anywhere, not to mention that Mac is so unsure of its success that allows you override completely its proprietary OS with Windows already built in. I started with Atari using Motorola 68000, same processor than Macs by that time (about 20 years ago) so it was easy to me move to Mac overtime but after trying PC I would not go back. However I must recognize Mac is now just like Windows Vista or 7, pure eye-catching, but good for designers merely, not to mention quite costly.
So Microsoft is equally unsure since you can override it also? To the contrary, Windows has long been known to steal from the Mac. This makes me question how much you really ever used one. You also missed the article posted where it's shown Macs are cheaper to use due to low maintenance, expandability and upgrades.
Wait a minute! Are you saying you ran Mac software on an Atari? Or are you saying it was easy for you to use a Mac because it ran the 68K? In either case, I'm calling another foul on you!
Uh, Apple has been around as long as Microsoft. And compatibility with what? Not the internet. Not any other computers.
I would say Mac is picking up market share but PC was sooo way ahead. Dont count microsoft out. Look at how they are so new to gaming and now how xbox live dominates. I have boys that play COD. If you dont know what cod means then you wouldnt realize how they are taking over the gaming market....
Been using Mac's for 15 years. Just got my first PC a month ago and love it. Price was the biggest consideration. We'll see about maintenance ect. and I'm a bit worried about viruses but so far it's been great.
I don't see any possibility for mac to win. And yes I admit the only good stuff with mac is his Ipod touch and Iphone. I do fall in love with them. But for overall functionality use i still prefer microsoft for running my daily activity.
Apple is dominating in the mobile space, but Microsoft has a foothold on the PC/internet business with Bing growing. It also has the xbox franchise and soon Natal, so it's not really a clear cut comparison.
MS Windows 7 is selling better than Apple's S.L., and the upcoming Office 2010 is very good and will be a best seller too, so not in the software area it isn't.
Not dividing things up into areas. Talking about the company as a whole. If you want to divide things up, then we can talk about how music and phones and mobile products but that's OT.
