Microsoft are sailing steady at the moment. The reason I think they wont lose is because people buy PC's all the time. People who have never used a computer before will go straight for Microsoft Windows.
Mac is only good make up, same components, so much make up and you get MAC as a product. Their OS? MS rules the market of business software.
if they are losing market share (IF) then Windows 7 will put them back on the map. Don't forget that MS servers operating systems are the most widely used systems around the world, then there is office and more recently a free security application. Mac was better 5 years ago (performance wise) but nowdays If you are to give me a free MAC or windows 7 laptop with a good processor i would go for Windows
Yeah! Just like Standard Oil, General Motors, IBM, Bell, Yahoo!, Netscape ... Nothing is forever, except change and uncertainty.
Don't knock IBM. Their total revenue is double that of Microsoft and they sell far more server software than Microsoft does.
Microsoft isn't losing anything. They're too high up in the game to lose anything substantially - Anything they do lose is easily placed under 'damages' and is siphoned out. Microsoft, despite many heart-aches, will be number 1 for quite the many moons to come - And I for one have no problem with that.
That's not true either. Microsoft's revenue and earnings have been dropping every quarter for the last year. Although last quarter jumped up, those numbers include pre-sales of Windows7 from previous quarters which MS rolled into the one. Savvy investors must have noticed because the stock price dropped about 8% on the news.
Not everyone is going to want to trick their computer to work, when you can buy a Windows PC and it works fine right out of the box, with all of the programs you're used to.
That's the main feature of Macs. Apple sets it up for you. Apple guarantees it works out of the box. Apple software works with all Apple hardware. Microsoft makes no such guarantees.
It's quite amusing to hear Apple's marketing line from a few years ago used by someone to "justify" that "PCs are so easy". Surely, you people are not being serious (have you ever even used a Mac?)
Far from losing, but Mac is getting more and more popular. But I prefer Ubuntu Linux and other free open source OS
Microsoft is the winner for now. But apple name is going up and there's a chance that they can beat Microsoft. But absolutely not anytime near.
