I bet Microsoft will still be around for another 15 years atleast, it's true that some of their products werent very successful, but atleast the successful ones like Visual Studio are kinda widely used for programming in the industry, and they are coming out with new products like Microsoft Surface and Windows 7 that might be the revolution for the computer world. o_o
if they dont offer quality software products along with good pricing, they will go down! I would love to see the future with free OS and softwares.
As the wolds population is growing non of the leading companies will decline. But the growth will be different.
I don't know... there are a lot of anti-micosoft hackers out there. I could foresee people switching to the mac (to avoid viruses and to have a comp that can still emulate a pc)
Microsoft is suffering from same thing which everyone else in suffering of Recession. Microsoft will bounce back with US economy, recently Microsoft Windows Mobile outsaled IPhone by Millions, Microsoft is gaining on Google in Online search market, and about Mac has taken 3-5 percent of Microsoft, is not impressive. Microsoft holds more than 90% OS market, surely it can not go up then this, Microsoft will come down a bit. Micosoft did sense that they can not hold 90% market forever that's why they brought other things like XBOX which is by far the best Console and has outsaled PS several times. Microsoft Games are big success too games like HALO which created records for sales. Its just Microsoft is going through some bad patch just like every other company do. And guys who think Bill Gates is idiot well If you are smart why don't you make that much money or If idiot can make so much money, you should be ashamed of yourself If you think you are smart which I doubt. Microsoft has spend lot of time on Yahoo deal, now when its over they can consentrate on other things. They are still the company to beat. Its amazing that Microsoft is battling free OS like Linux but still outpaced it, that's tell how good Windows OS is that people are prefering to spend $100 instead of getting free OS like Linux.
It's not that Apple is far more secure - just why waste your time making a virus that'll affect the 5 apple owners in the world, when you can screw over hundreds of millions of PCs? Microsoft's problem is that they are not sticking to what they did best. They stuck their finger in the video game pie, the internet pie, and any other pie they could get their finger into. And what's happened? They've released a rubbish OS. If they stopped trying to be jacks of all trades and stuck to being a masters of one, they wouldn't be screwing up their core business like they are at the moment.
And he continued getting lucky for 30 years of course. Though thick and thin, his luck just magically kept holding on. He saw off the competition, bulldozed his way onto 90% of the worlds desktops and made microsoft THE OS - all though sheer bloody luck! The guy did what you and me have so far failed to do. Which makes us worse than idiots perhaps?
I have heard somewhere that many hackers create viruses with a political agenda to weaken Microsoft's power because microsoft wants to control the computer industry. What do you all think about that?
Hackers/Virus makes do it for many reasons: - For a point - To make themselves feel good - To show off to their friends (haha I hacked this guys comp, what a legend I am) - Revenge for whatever reason
I hope not. I want the Yahoo take over to go through. That way if google keep fucking people up on adwords/adsense we have a decent alternative to head towards.
Microsoft's landslide began shortly after the release of Windows XP and, since then, the snowball keep rolling down, deep inside Even though, Microsoft is an icon of the cyber culture, otherwise we hardly would be here talking about it
Bla bla bla Do you have any idea in what projects Microsoft is involved? Windows is not the main business anymore, and not their only project, they have a lot of them, and very interesting also. Check Microsoft Research, Microsoft Labs, Microsoft Developer Center, and so on. Windows is just a little part, and Microsoft is expanding more and more.
