The only Prince Song I ever listened to over and over was quite a funny one that the girls at the bar used to play when they danced on stage, it was a Prince song "You sexy MF" and they used to play it over and over and it was quite funny while they danced along to it and sang along at the same time. For me, that is about all the Prince I ever really enjoyed and that was only because I was looking at something on stage and not him
I have heard them, but am not his greatest fan as you can tell, I resented a lot of artists that came on the scene in the 70's Minstrel because we were heavy into hard rock then. When Springstein and Prince came out I put them in the same boat with bands like Foreigner and the BEE GEES, I just never could get into them, nor South Side Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. We were hard into Aerosmith, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Robin Trower, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and really did not like the POP invasion or anything that sounded like POP. Todd Rungren made me sick when he came on the scene.
I suppose you hate Beethoven, Mozart, and Sibelius, too I walked out of a Todd Rundgren concert after about half an hour -- he made my ears bleed. What's wrong with the BeeGees or Springsteen? I always remember a DJ describing one of the BeeGees disco days songs as "the terrifying falsettos of the BeeGees". More recently, Jim Rome went on a rant about truth in pop singing and slagged the BeeGees by saying, "What about Staying Alive? What was that about? You're not... well, not very many of you any way..."
I have accepted Bruce, but never the BEE GEE's Minstrel, they are no better than the Partraige family In fact the Monkeys were better than they, at least I used to enjoy their TV show when I was 6 years old
The Bee Gees were so innovative and unique. They were not just a pop band. The Bee Gees kicked ass in their very own way. The harmony and their voices were unreal. Earth, Wind and Fire is another 70's band I liked. Both are still played a lot. You don't hear Todd Lundgren anymore and most young ppl dunno who the heck he is for a reason. Some things are time less and the Bee Gees rule.
Now I know why we don't get along TOOT, you like Wacko and the Bee Gees Man at least you got a good thread out of it, if we agreed this one may not be worth anything
The Monkees? Only one of those guys was even a musician! That's it -- now I begin my "Let's Get Anthony Back Into The Red" campaign
Davy Jones was a singer and Peter was the guy you speak of, they were funny as hell, sort of a fake Beatles clone for the kids The richest man in music and the one who changed it all after Hendrix passed away is pictured below. Funny how Page is still standing out of all of them with all the great wealth when he was one of the wildest of them all.
OK dude, Zeppelin and Hendrix ... timeless yeh. But Elvis, gimme a break, man. Elvis and Frank Sinatra are to my mom what Bing Crosby was to my grammy. That sht was timed and doomed to fade out and be forgotten for good. They were the Backstreet Boys of their days
If you can get any Elvis Live in Concert recordings, you will change your mind man, the concert videos are some of the most spectacular concerts I have seen and I have seen Hendrix and Zeppelin. No one has his style and there was only one Elvis period. Keyword = Live recordings and concert videos Hell Robert Plant was Elvis's # 1 fan, what does that tell you?
Keith Richards is still standing too, even though he probably died about 1984. Now that's what I call stamina
Robert Plant is about 10 1/2 years older than me, that would make him about 56 at this time ST. Page is in his 60's PS: ST, your judgment can't be that good if you like WACKO & the BeeGees, so please don't discuss the "King of Rock" any longer lest you show your lack of music knowledge, like I said, Rolling Stone will never hire you to be Editor
Now don't ye be slagging Donnie... remember: she's a little bit country... he's a little bit rock'n'roll...
no way, I told myself if I ever make it to 2,500 posts, I will throw my PC away and start working at Walmart
