Is <meta name="robots" content="index,follow"> default?

I was making some changes to one of my sites, *adding in noindex values on my news pages* and I thought about putting "<meta name="robots" content="index, follow">" on all of my pages that i want indexed and followed.

But would this actually make a difference? Isn't it the default for any page that doesn't have another value other than index/follow?

Yeah, Google bot will crawl the site without that allowance. We add it to make sure things.

if google sees noindex, it won't index the site.
