Hello friends, What do you think about massive link building? There are lot of services here that offer thousands of backlinks in couple of dollars (like this for example). Is it good technique? I know that Google don't like it if there are hundreds new backlinks each day. He can see that as spam. Do you take those kind of offers or you prefer building the links slowly by yourself?
It has to be done slowly and gradually. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it has to be consistent as well.
How slowly? I started a link building campiegn this past weekend, and managed to get around 170 relavent links to my arcade site in around 12 hours through a semi-automated system that i built. I have a much larger list of sites that i will be able to use, but don't want to get penalized. Should i limit it to 10 links a day? 100? 1000? (i have about 25k sites that i can get the links from.
100 links a day is pretty high, but not insane. I would never go quite that high, but I always do my link development in little chunks and switch between my different sites as well. However, If you had a really cool article that was linked on the frontpage of slashdot, how many links would you get then? 1000 in a day? This stuff happens and you dont have to be super scared of getting a bunch of links, thats what viral content does, it spreads on its own. Also, where are your links from? Are all 100 links just from WordPress comments for example? I think the type of link could factor into it if your getting the same exact types of links over and over. Also be sure to vary up your link text here and there to keep that natural feel.
try to get relevant links, thats near your content or niche 10 relevant links are sometimes better than 100 bulk links. and yes, google may penalize you for that cause link arent natural
I think the penalty is not given for quantity alone, but for many links from sites which google considers low-quality, with low trust. If you manage to get a million links from the blogosphere, it's okay, because some sites are "bad", some are "good" and Google considers them to be representative for the whole internet. But you get a million links only from "bad", untrusted sites, Google considers there might be something fishy about your site as well.
I think it's not good at all especially if you tend to get links which is not related and that is being penalized by SE.remember google knows who are fooling them.
Thanks, that was exactly what I was thinking. For one of my sites (dog allergies) I have tried automated article submission, a few month ago. My traffic went down dramatically... only after about two month when I stopped link building completely, I got my traffic back...
