Is MAHALO a better search engine or SEOed content site?

Mahalo is going to create result pages based on human search and editorial.
Only difference I see between Mahalo and Wikipedia is that wikipedia lets everyone edit the page.

So I don't see Mahalo as a search engine.
It is just another content site, and Mahalo just wants to rank well for those search terms, much as Wikipedia ranks well for MANY Search terms.

Mahalo will list compile the search results, maybe weed out the Highly SEOed or engineered sites and stay on top on the SERP.

Not a bad idea, but definitely not a search engine.

Mahalo will still depend on google for traffic.
    Is it by design?

Just think if Mahalo will succeed this will be the end of the SEO, so ... I vote down with Mahalo.

I am still not too convinced with Mahalo.
They can never beat Google on keyword search, because algorithm for keyword search is pretty much easier to improve on.

What is difficult is semantic search.. How many phrases can Mahalo create, even if they managed to...

I love these guys to death.
I wrote them an email, and said that their trance, and house Music sections were lacking variety and some necessary improvements.
They wrote back, and asked for suggestions, I gave them, and the not only listened and added some of my suggestions, but gave me some link love on them.
The power of the pen baby.
I actually forgot about it until I saw this thread, and checked to see if they had made any changes.

Not really seeing any major value in this site. I mean its nice that they have very relevant links. If i'm going to search google, I will choose what I want exactly not what i'm shown to be the best source. I personally don't think ths site will make it even though it seems nice.

I am not saying that this is a bad site, but only that it is a poor substitute for Google. Google will send 90% of its traffic, and that is what Jason must have had in mind anyway. He does know a lot more than just a thing or two about SEO :)

Mahalo...I've heard far too much of this site, I still don't see the advantage other than the ability for us SEOs to exploit the results

Article: Mahalo Marketing...Anyone want to add to this?
