Is LinkMarket.net a huge scam??????

I recently joined LinkMarket.net and put in over 500 link exchange requests. It's been several days now and the only "current jobs" I've been getting is from websites that I did not put in a link exchange request for. The problem here seems to be that most of the websites in the Linkmarket.net directory are either abandoned or are no longer online. I believe this is because you can only have one website on each account and cannot easily delete the website if you are no longer using it. If you start a new website and want to use their services you have to signup for a whole new account. In my opinion their $24.95 fee is not worth it. If you put in 2000 link exchange requests you'd be lucky if you got 20 people to respond. A better alternative to LinkMarket.net is Link2Me.com. Their website has a lot more active users and you only need one account for all your sites. Their membership fee is $5 more than LinkMarket.net but is well worth the money. I just joined yesterday and I've been getting more link exchange requests than I can handle. They also have a feature which can detect whether your partner still has your link on their link page which I don't believe LinkMarket.net has.

I don't know if they are a scam, but in my experience the quality of sites on there is very poor and the links next to worthless; I would not pay for a membership. You can probably do better link exchanges with people here on DP than any tool out there.

    Cheers!

My website is new so I have no alexa ranking and a 0 pagerank. This still does not excuse the fact that I did not receive ANY jobs from the link exchange requests I put in on LinkMarket.net. There are a lot of websites on their that are in the beginning stages like mine. I think the owners of LinkMarket.net need to modify their website to where they can detect inactive websites as well as users.

I tried them and I don't recommend them. I got one quality exchange and that was it. Your better off doing link exchanges here if anywhere.

Well, my 2cents on this post is as follows: you're probably correct about a lot of abandoned sites at Linkmarket. The concept of a link exchange tool is ok but I didn't like the way they went about it at Linkmarket. My site gives you the ability to create a link directory on your site for link exchanging. You need a mechanism for people to exchange links with you when they come to your site. My script will automatically post their linking code to your link directory once they copy and paste your link code into their page. If everyone at DP would just go join my site that would be great! Then you can exchange links with one click and never have to be bothered with copying and pasting code, uploading files, and emailing people for a link request. All done automatically. Best of all, it's free, and comes with a great backlink checker tool. I just ask that people be patient while it's growing...Rome was not built in a day..

Linkmarket is ok but they should upgrade their system to honour active websites.

I signed up for a 6 month subscription only, then got charged again for another 6 months subscription automatically without knowing and they wouldnt give any refund, even tho i no longer owned the domain anymore and only asked for 6 months in the first place. I wasnt aware at all that i would be subscribing to a re-occuring fee.
Total money grabbers and wouldnt advise anyone to use them.
Never did my business any good what so ever either.

I signed up with Linkmarket last week. I requested several links that are themed to my site. I posted the links that were requested on my website, but not one website has posted mine as agreed.
I ran a check with Yahoo Site Explorer and found no one posted the recipricol link as agreed, only linkmarket themselves posted a link to me.
Anyone have any new ideas how to get links.

I recently stopped using linkmarket.net for a few reasons.

    - Your link will probably end up on a link page that's not visited.
    - Equal link exchange isn't very powerful in my experience.
    - It's very hard to do 20 link exchanges with relevant sites.

No offense to people that still use it. Maybe it does work for them, it just didn't do it for me :D
