Is linking keywords bad?

I'm running a blog on my site to advertise my products and while the keywords are there I'm also adding links from the keywords to other parts of my site.

For example when I use the keyword 'kitty cat' I also have a link they can click to take them to the catagory 'cat' in my store.

Is this bad? Will search engines punish me for it?

    thanks in advance

why would they? you're not doing anything wrong in any way, really.

you should note, though, that in google the more links you have on a given page, the less "power" each link will pass to the next link. people associate this with pagerank, but it goes beyond that-- trust, authority, etc all play into it.
