Is Link-Juice from High PR Blogs a Myth?

I hear all this talk about PR6 Blogs, and PR8 blogs.... and this.... and that....

Wouldnt a comment on a PR8 blog be equal to a comment on a PR0 blog in Google's eyes?

I mean, a blog comment certainly cant be a "vote" for a website

Has anyone run any tests on this?

Wouldnt all blog comments be equal in value?

Their is a lot of difference buddy . PR8 blog post get indexed in few hours and if you have posted a comment than it will also be their with that post but in PR0 blog you have to wait for few days to get indexed .

the PR is only on the main page not on the comment page. but if your comment page got PR, yes you will get a juice.

A comment on PR8 blog will worth much more compared to comment on PR0 blog. However, if you see these backlinks overall weight, then these backlinks worth not much because you cannot use anchor text with these links, and many other reasons.

Sometimes the actual PR of a page doesn't matter as much as the PR of the website's homepage. The search engines care about links from quality sites, not necessarily just from quality pages within a quality website. The search engines won't take away a page's 'vote' just because the page is an extra click from the homepage. A page's PR is far from being the ultimate factor.

I know I would take a comment on a PR8 blog any day over a comment on a PR0 blog. It is true that it is nearly impossible to get a quality blog comment link without the nofollow attribute.

I personally don't invest much time in blog commenting. There are other much more effective strategies.

Well you do have a point over here because having comments on PR8 blog doesn't mean that it's a vote for your site. But the benefit of it is that, the PR 8 blog posts will be crawled regularly and more often, and the crawling will lead to your site as well.

Are there lists of PR8 blogs that are nofollow? Where would I go to find that out?

I would assume the pr8 blog has more traffic than a pr0 blog, so if you receive any benefit it would be more visitors could follow your comment and continue onto your site.

PR8 Dofollows? Good luck. There aren't many homepages with PR8, much less blog comments with PR8, and I guarantee there are no Dofollow Blog Comment Pages with PR8.

it's not just a simple as getting a link on a high PR site, it's also about how many other links there are. Take for example DP, it has a PR of 6 but as each thread has 10-20 replies each with a singature tag, then the actual PR you get is pretty useless. However DP is excellent for advice, information and networking and I love it.

doesn't matter if it is a blog or a shop... it is still a website so PR from it counts and that's true

It takes MINUTES that a post from PR4 blog is indexed in Google. I've written an article, and in one hour I ranked #8 for desired keyword.

It also takes minutes for PR2 blog. I don't see that PR affects the speed of indexing.

Most high PR blog learned their lesson during the Nov. '07 Google PR slashing. Now days everyone is on guard. They took my 6 and dropped it to a 3 because of Izea and PayPerPost - if only I had known what was coming.

A PR8 with do follow comments would be gold. Hell, if you knew of such an animal you could sell a link to the site for money. I'll give you $10 for 2 PR8 do follow comment blogs.
