I am doing some contract work and the site in mention has a PR of 7. That is the homepage, other sections have 5-7 PRs. I believe the inbound links are all self-sustaining at this point, and don't think I have to actually manually build links. However, will it help much if I try to build more links?
Cool, I figured that was the case. I just thought that because the site is already having the audience create inbound links, that would suffice. I will keep this in mind, thank you for the fast response guys.
Of course it is - I have seen websites with PR0-1 outranking PR5 because they had more links with keyword in the anchor text
Yes of course you must continue with the link building if you want to stand on the same rank or want increase it. Because back links give traffic to your website. So carry on.
Link building is a continuous process, if you think the main page has "enough" links for now then you can build links on the sites' internal pages.
If all the keyword already rank well in Google search, I will stop make linking to homepage and focus on new sub-pages.
Just keep building quality back links or let them come your way naturally ( if people feel "love" to link to you ") . Focus on deep link building, build links to inner pages of your website which have low page rank than home page.
yes, it depends on the competition, so whether your site has pr7 or pr 9, it doesn't' matter, the matter is how effectively you have optimize your keywords otherwise any less pr site would overtake your sites.
Link building is a never ending process and the more backlinks you get, the much better for your site..
If you stop link building your site have chance to come down and your competitor has chance to take over you. So you need to keep link building.
If you can get more links add them. The sites competition won't sit around hoping that links self sustain.
I Would say it depends upon your business and your client. For some business PR is the most important factors for others SERP is more important. Do not build links just for sake of building back-links for for increasing your ranking on search engines and find sources to improve inflow if your potential customers to your site.
