I've been looking at the Search Engine land and guess what i have found out an Article with Title: 2014 SEO Playboy. When i have started it reading it and i've spotted a line saying "From 2013 we get one mantra i.e. Link Building is Dead". This completely gets me horrified, So DP members I need your views on this Do you believe that Link Building is Dead? From my point of view building back links is one of the most important part!!
Hello, Yes you are right that Link building is the important part of SEO, but I think the techniques from which spammy and low quality backlinks earn that should be die; 2013 was not the year of low quality backlinks because google has announced lot of algorithms to penalize those site which has low quality links or who does not follow the golden rule of Google. So, we should learned from past year that always focus on quality links, Links building can never die but Low quality links building has died. Thank you.
Link building is not dead but as easycontent mentions above, what many would consider traditional link building is dead. By traditional link building I mean acquiring as many links as possible as quickly as possible in link directories and article directories this technique is no longer effective. Link building is no longer about finding the easiest way to obtain links. Instead of the quantity of links, the quality of links and how they will benefit the business is now the focus. I suppose some people might not refer to the new techniques as link building.
Well people in the SEO industry keep saying that, I already heard that many times. But who's talking about the death of SEO? Those who are providing SEO services. They want to scared people to get more clients. In our experience, backlinks is still the biggest factor to rank a website no matter what other SEO gurus are saying about the death of link building. We did not even go to the guest blogging bandwagon before but still we rank our clients web sites using some old link building techniques that we believe will work if done correctly. Link diversity, anchor text diversity, link building consistency, and onpage link building silo, if done correctly will surely help your site rank.
Building lousy low quality links was never a good idea. Google has always favored high quality relevant backlinks from niche sites and that hasn't changed in ten years. What's important now is relationship building, where you actually try to make a connection with those people who are reading your content (whether it's a blog comment, blog post, or Facebook status update). Reach out to that person and address their needs. If you get a backlink from this type of posting, that's secondary as the result will be more real traffic to your main site and buyers for your products.
I agree with what the others have said. Link building itself is alive and kicking, but massing spammy backlinks probably won't do any good.
Linkbuilding is far from dead, that's what Google's search engine is built on. The only thing that has changed is that cheap and quick links are no longer as effective. Link building requires a bigger budget and/or more thought. That is the only difference.
bad link are bad new for your website or blogs, just use link checking tools to remove bad links, you can build links from social network shares and high quality bookmarking sites. point is you cannot build links by sharing links with low quality sites, just check the page rank before using any site for link building.
bad links are bad news for your site, just remove the bad links, just use sites with good page rank for link building. its that simple is google's message.
I am not talking about removing bad links but i am more interested in knowing is "Back link building is dead for SEO" You could always refer to to the article of search engine land that says it is dead.
link building is not dead as i said, you have to build good quality links to your site as spam links are bad for your site, that are low quality link building, like spamming blog comments with your site links, use low quality bookmarking sites, you need back links from real people likes top bloggers post links to your blog post that they like, you cannot just spam your link allover web to get back links, a good quality content will naturally get high quality back link.
Google wants to provide quality results to its users and i support the idea of penalizing low quality & spam linkbuilding process and activities that doesn't come under the Google guidelines. Linkbuilding will never dead, but certainly some of the techniques are dead and worth low importance in linkbuilding process like paid links, link exchange, automated submissions, low quality article and directory submissions, now-a-days. I didn't find any new technique in SEO, but yes the process to use these techniques have changed today. Previously we did mass submissions in directory and bookmarking sites, but now it counts as spam. We submitted one article in 4 to 5 article directories, but now it causes duplicity and count as spam. Hence, we should focus on quality over quantity to create links for our website. Also that article gives us a message that it is also important to build trust, relationship, social connections, authority and interactions rather than wasting time in only links creations and submissions.
As per as Matt Cutt says the use Google penguin to block spam back links not to block those who do the quality work. So, don't be panic it won't harm until or unless you used spam activities.
Well thanks for confirming me up !! I've been looking round the forums for such direct replies but most of the users say the same thing while going all the way round !!
I used to work for a certain company who decided to buy backlinks. 3 days later we had 12k links from some thai porn site.
No, Link building is there and it will be here but remember related link from related page and it is better if it comes from good page rank.
Link building as an SEO phenomenon isn't dead! Like any other SEO activity it is evolving, getting less spammy and more elaborate. That's why it's natural that some link buidling techniques get out of date and die. For example, directory submission, link exchange, poor quality guest blogging, automated forum and blog commenting, buying links for SEO - that is what you should keep away from. To make your site rank high, you need to focus on the up-to-date link building activities. Here is more info about the most effective techniques that are working now: http://webmeup.com/seo-guide/
Link building is not dead as per as my aspects it is one of the important part of the SEO and we have to concentrate on the quality links and follow all the guidelines of the Google webmasters.
It's the internet. how can link building ever be dead. The world wide web is all about web pages, interlinked. Simple logic tells you that the more links you put out, the more your chances of being linked back to.
