If you copied the entire section list exactly, you might end up with problems. Your best bet is to pick your own, and word them differently. Copying someone is never good business.

Would you have the same dilemma, if you first published the information on your site, or blog, then posted it to a forum?

I think, copying forum with exact phrase and post would be illegal, because its the coyright issue.

That would depend on the rules of the forum and whether or not they allow that. You wouldn't get hit with a duplicate content penalty on your own site if it were posted there (and indexed there) first though. As long as you're within forum rules, there's no dilemma with this... you're simply granting someone else the non-exclusive write to re-publish your work.

    Jennifer,

Do you LIVE here at DP? With the number of comments, one gets the impression you sleep here, eat here and live here.

On a more serious note, when in doubt, do what I do, go direct. Contact DP and ask the question of those who'd know.

I'd like to thank all the people in this thread who keep pushing the myth that linking to the origin of CopyRighted material makes it OK.

Can I kidnap your children if I tattoo your address on their forehead

Yeah, yeah, bad example, but seriously, it's still theft. You need the permission from the poster, and often times the site.

This is more like it, though I'd like to point out, that on a Forum one has to accept the guidelines of the site, and then accept the common "fair use" policies of the forum setting. For instance, using the
