i am not a seo master but i think yes if you want to do seo on your site then u should choose any good keyword which is related to the content of your site.
It "might" be better to have the keywords in the domain names as sometimes it defines whats the content it carries. For example: You cannot afford to build a "skin care" site on ilikeferrari.com. Even the visitors will not feel that its a professional site. So, in this case keyword does matter to some extent. Also, having the keywords in the domain name will make the visitors to remember it easily. But, on the other hand, you can also create some "brandable" domain names (which need not have keywords) in it. For example, you can create Icare.com and you can give out your tips on "Skin care" or "health care". So, I think its up to you to decide on balancing between the "keyword" name or "brandable" name. But, for a brandable name you need to do some kind of marketing to make it familiar among your target audience.
TLD popularity for a domain name - whether the .com / .org / .net / .biz etc. are all registered - is a more important influence on domain value than having a high cpc keyword in the domain name.
With time there has been a drop in the importance gives to keyword specific domains names. So if you are planning to get a domain name for yourself, you must probably think of something really unique, short and that gives an idea about the theme of your website to live audience rather than making the search engines happy. If people like your site, search engines are bound to stay happy and pass-over the benefits to you.
Keywords? What about Mr. Fisher, operating a bread bakery, and Mrs. Baker operating a fish store? Internet Domains are just addresses that can be used for anything. What is best for a business card if there is only space on it for either a 16 character description or the business brand/name/slogan? And what if there is only space for 8 characters? SERP depends of the keywords that people input in the search engine and the relationship of those keywords with the content of Your website, together with the domain name. It is very difficult to have a high SERP in most search engines, because people should have to type in several lines of text that are ientical to a part in Your web document. Now, who does that? If Your project is already established and well-known, the address of the website is less important. Otherwise, if prospecting is a must, then it is important to use all available publicity channels such as radio, TV, merchandising, classifieds, Yellow Pages and other directories, billboards, whatever. As many identification items should be used, including the web address. The web address can be any allowed character combination and does not absolutely need to contain keywords. Remember that You cannot have a short SLD (domain name) that describes Your activity good enough. The shorter a word is, so much easier it is to remember, but then it is not descriptive enough in most cases. If Your activity is not world wide, then it is less important that it is found in search engines. For most businesses, people first ask around for information or look in some local directory such as Yellow Pages. Why bothering with a PC or Smart Phone if it just takes a minute to look in a phone book etc.? It is how You want it for Yourself, or how You want it for somebody else. That can be different. Same thing about domain value: Some people find other things important than You, and they can accept or reject any whatever appraisal. Success!
Keywords can be useful, as long as they make sense, both in word choice and grammar. It's not about stuffing in keywords for the sake of it. For example: The domain "dogtraining.com" would be good, but not "traindog.com". It just doesn't sound good or professional. A domain such as "dOgbedience.com" would be a much better choice (a good brand already taken too). So you can even try to be a bit creative with a mix of brand and keywords. However, you shouldn't become too fixated on this one point, though. If you can't find the right keyword combination available, instead consider a brandable.
It sure is not as important as it used to was. It actually may hurt now rather than help. Google did send out the EMD updated sometime ago and basically domain names that do match a high competitive keyword lost their rankings.
Main Funda Of SEO is- For a Keyword as Much CTR You having Your website will rank High For that keyword. take a Look On the screenshot and analyse. http://whois.india.dj/images/1.png
Keyword in Domain is called EMD and it is good in SEO too....... don't think of latest EMD penalization, they were those domain names which had low quality sites, if you can create quality sites on EMD, you can rank higher..
EMD was all about penalizing domains/website(s) with shallow content and lack of information useful for the readers. Well, Google has its own ways to identify such domains. All I'd say is that as long as you are adding in a value for your visitors/readers, you don't have to worry about any updates that Google rolls-out.
I have some EMD sites and they still have a great amount of traffic. I do have a lot of content too on them so it probably did not apply to me. We all have come across some EMD's and that have no content on them at all. I am glad some of those sites got penalized. If you are the real deal then you will and should gain your traffic back.
I think it's important when buying a domain name it has good keyword(s) so if/when you decide to sell that domain name time itself should increase its value alone. When registering www.tshirtmagic.com back in 1999 for my business (Pacific Airbrushing) I wasn't thinking about domain name re-sell value then but I am now.
Well... it doesn't work as well as it used to on Google. Google has a lot of other factors they take into consideration when ranking domain names, like age and social signals. But on Bing, wow. With the right keywords in your domain, you can get to the top of some highly competitive searches fairly easily. The reason why Bing is important is because Facebook OpenGraph is powered by Bing. Yahoo is as well. Facebook, Yahoo, and Bing combined are still not driving the kind of traffic that Google is, but that's very likely to change in this next three year round. You want to be positioned well on Bing, which is still pretty easy to do at this point.
As many have said, it does make a difference, even if it is not the whole picture. I know this because I own a domain of a very uncommon name. There might be 1000 Google hits for it. The only html on the page is <img src>, and the code doesn't have the domain name anywhere in it. Yet it has been number 1 in the SERPs for years dispite this. So for SEO, it does still have impact,
If you can put in your main keyword in the domain, without the domain looking/sounding awkward, then great. But if you can't, then go for a domain name that is unique and easy to remember. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
