I heard that some search engines wont go for meta tags and meta description. Is it true? If so which search engine follows meta tag and description?

But, you will not do anything wrong if you use also meta keywords.
Some local / regional search engines / directories still use those.

Yes sorry, I should have also said, it does no harm to put some.. but do not over do them. Just 2-4 main keyphrases, and ensure that any page you Keyword in the META has those very same keywords/phrases in the page content too.

You can use All-in-one SEO pack where you can override any title and set any META description and any META keywords you want.

All search engines follow meta description tags. They are actually pretty important, even though they're not used for rankings, it is the first description a user will get of your website when you first appear as a SERP. So it quite important to give a solid description including some keywords because they will be in bold once you appear as a SERP.

Now for the Meta Keywords tag. Don't use it, it's a waste of time. Yes, minor search engines (Ask.com - DogPile.com - NetScape.com - Search.com - MetaCrawler.com) still use them for rankings but these search engines represent about 6% of all the searches performed in the world. All the major search engines (Yahoo.com - Google.com - Bing.com) do not use them anymore. They are useless to them and since they represent about 95% of all searches performed, you could easily not include and still have most of the global traffic available.

I personally don't include them anymore at all. The time I waste on them, I'd rather invest it on something more useful.

Your website title, met tages must have keywords of your website, this will help your website to get good values and improvements in SEO values. we must use multiple keyword for our website and every inner page of our website must have different keywords, title and meta tages.

I am not of the opinion that Meta tags are useless. If you see the search results in Google, most of the snippets are taken from the meta descriptions...

I believe that keywords on Meta tags are important for SERPs. It is one way how crawlers index a page and it is a way how Search engines 'tag' your website or page.

Meta Tags are important especially if you want your site to be rank higher in Google rankings. I think they are one of their criteria on ranking.
Try to put your exact keywords on your meta tags for best results.

In spite of using more generic words try to use synonyms or "long tail" keywords. Research has shown that multi word phrases are capable of bringing more traffic to your site rather than highly competitive main keyword phrases. As long tail keywords plays a role of unique keyword for the site which increases the chance of bringing the site to the top. Less generic keywords or key phrases can bring a good amount of traffic to the site initially.
