"When linking to external websites, a good strategy to move up in the rankings is to use the keywords you're attempting to rank for on that page as the anchor text of the external-pointing links." Is it True or False and why????
Never, it is not a good idea to give your competitors or wikipedia, for instance, links, period. This is a no brainer. Nigel
yes of-course but that depends how you have done your onpage. Using an anchor text in a page means that the word in it is a seconday keyword. But the page that it points to, should be build by keeping in mind that the main or primarty keyword of it is that anchor text.
Using anchor text in links is correct, but for out bound links, use the NoFollow attribute to block the PR Bleedoff.
Yeah , don t take a chance when giving outbound links. Unless it is a renowned government or education site, put nofollow Remember that you have no control over what the other websites are doing. If they are doing spam, blackhat seo, illegal stuff, Google will penalize you for linking and suggesting them to the internet community.
