AVG is just a small version of kaspersky right? I tried AVG once but not satisfied with it then I switched to NOD32 till now but still got some virus from time to time though.
i m always use kasper sky antivirus. becaz kasper is best antivirus and fast loaded. i m use norton antivirus also in last year but i m not like becaz norton take lot of time to load and effect my pc speed also.
kaspersky is very good antivirus and its security is also good , But if you have too many viruses in your pc than don't install it directly but first format windows than install it . I you will install it in virus container than something you can see a crash in windows because this software won't leave anything which contains virus .
I tried a lot of Anti Virus programs and finally satisfied with Symantec Client Security Corporate Edition. Its not taking too much of system resources and working like a charm than anything else !
I tried this software out and I do not recommend it at all, it really slowed my computer down, I have had no problems to date running a free edition of avg alongside xoftspyse and ccleaner.
I use Kaspersky + online scanners for example: http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/ .. etc you can visit this site: anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com
as i said, NOD32 & kaspersky are the best but the new McAfee & Norton products (the 2009 edition)...are much improved!!
I recommend you try AVAST Home Edition.....get it from download.com, it's 100% Free to use and it auto-updates itself for you.....BTW Avast is what hackers use!
I was using avg few days back for about a week. It was fetching me 100+ virus everyday while scanning. But it was not able to stop virus from entering PC, though it removed them after scan. I now have licensed kaspersky internet security, it does not let virus enter my PC and informs me everytime to take an action. But, it makes PC little slow and also net slow if web anitvirus is enabled.
