I have acquired a website which has been online from past 2 yrs but has no ranking or significant traffic. Now i wann develop the site and get customers from it. I wont be getting the total control of the site til 31 of march, but was thinking of starting optimising it from now itself. So will off page that i start now be productive or should i wait for getting total conttol and then start seo on the site?? Also what all can i start on off page seo other than directory submission to gain some ranking in search engine. Plz suggest
You can start building links now, but make sure to continue doing so once you change the onsite stuff so google can update their cache. Start with linkwheels and Blog comments for quick ranking, but you may want to get into high pr 1 way links later on aswell.
it is possible to rank a site without onpage optimization but it will be lot easier to get your site ranked if you spend some time on onpage.
I think first you must to update the content of your site, and after start building backlinks for your site. If you start to build links to an old and irrelevant content and you got a large number of links in a few weeks, it may appear a red flag in Google and you will be suspected to be a spammer. Sending links to fresh and new content seems more naturally and I think for long term this is the best option.
Link Building is I guess the best thing for you to do...but of course make sure your site has enough details or the customers to visit it...
thanks for your suggestions. suppose i start the off page seo now, what all can i do to get ranking... Apart from blog commenting that GoDonorJulian suggested. Also whats is linkwheels??
Commenting is very powerful. Other options are buying some cheap links and make sure to bookmark pages in your site on all the social bookmark sites.
Its a good idea to start building up links now yes. This will save a lot of time when you have the site for on-page seo and thing.
Just try to start building backlink to your site and after you get total control do on-page optimization.
Like the guy above said, it is possible to get good results without doing any on page optimization but you will always get better results if you do both, after all the on site optimization is the easy part, why miss it out?
Build quality backlinks from higher PR than your site. Recommended to get backlink from .edu/.gov extension. Hurry Up!!
Hm, sorry, not sure, but hopefully the site is not in your name and if so, than you can build backlinks! Do mixture of links per popular pages. Make sure you get links from blogs, forums, and many authority sites.
if ur on-page optimization is good then u dont worry and start ur opp-page optimzation. it will help u
Hi Friend, According to seo , seo is divided in two way, first on page and second off page , so we should also do both of activity.
on page is a vital factor of a site.link building for a site is OK.but if on page of a site is not ok,the site couldn't be well rank in search engine.check the on page factor
Onsite optimization is crucial to obtain high ranking for your desired keywords, however, offsite optimization is as improtant as onsite optimization and is very time consuming and therefore i recommend you start offsite optimization ahead of time. Other than directory submissions, you may start with article submissions, forums and blogs promotion, social bookmarking, (you may even prepare content) which you can post as soon as you gain control of the website. goodluck
Yes it is possible but as webcosmo suggest, it is much easier if you do the onpage Optimization such as title tag, keywords density something like that. But Google mainly concentrate on the links with your keywords.. hopes this piece of information help
i think to get quick links to you site you could link with those websites which have are generally old in domain and more over in your niche !!!
