Not particularly or out of the box of you will. There are a few search engine friendly(SEF) plugins, but I have frankly never been able to make them even work. I would love to see a site that has them working actually. I suspect it is built into the current version.

with Wordpress you don't need to wrk around modding a lot but with Joomla u need to use some components and a few cutm mods to get the seo good....wordpress is much better n easier thn Joomla SEO but both are nearly equal whn joomla is modded...

We find Joomla ok for SEO but agree that wordpress is just a little better in that aspect.

I've had a similar experience - started a joomla and a wordpress site at the same time - no duplicate content but in a similar niche. They were just for experimenting and trying some ideas out on, so I haven't really done anything to promote either of them, but the wordpress one gets a steady trickle of traffic - the joomla much much less.

wordpress is the best platform, even better than joomla, i have installed WP in my 2 domains. it's come in google ranking quickly and it's very SE friendly.

so i'll suggest you to work with WP (word press) installation.

How you can compare these two.
It is of course Wordpress one will be indexed first.
Do you check or know the page rank of Wordpress.
Wordpress and Wiki publishings are indexed in a very short time.
For yours,7 days is really long time.

If you manage to understand Joomla! and know how to get it work, joomla! is a powerful CMS. I got it work very well. We can not campare 2 things just saying XXX is good and YYY is bad and this is unfair sometimes.

The products are similar in the way that trucks are similar to cars. But it really depends on your intended use and how you plan to use the site. Blogs have a kind spot in the eyes of Google for now. The promotion is DIFFERENT to some extent as Blog Specific Directories exist that will not accept your Joomla site if it is not in a blog layout.

Wordpress is easier to learn and install. I use both. But I prefer Joomla for larger static sites and the ease with which I can manipulate adspace without date stamps.

A well designed flexible template is useful for either and will effect your SEO.

Joomla is a SEO friendly CMS too ,you can use the default option of making the links seo friendly and you can also add some component wich make your work easier :)

Joomla is seo friendly but when u compare with wp then wp will give u better result for seo. In joomla u have to work more, but wp supports many seo plugins just enter meta tags and u r ready to go

i have few joomla sites and few wordpress sites...

i noticed that out of the box i got faster indexing on wordpress sites and sites with smaller page rank act better then joomla sites in that period. however you have bunch of plugins you can use to upgrade joomla site.

i am wondering how perform modx cms. when you type in to google "seo cms" modx is first result.

also i noticed that google like drupal very much...

but probably everything depends from content and if people like you then search engine will like you to...
