The Joomla interface is massively bloated imo.

If you want to stick with blogging then Wordpress is best but if you want to run complex websites, Joomla would be your best bet. However you probably will need a day to play around with Joomla. As for the traffic discussion, content is what all matters :)

more prefer on wordpress, due to easy setup, plugin support, customize theme and 2.7 cms theme .....
It take me two day to setup a proper Joomla site for client but wordpress only spend 10% of time for wordpress, client prefer WP then Joomla due to simplify back end .......

Joomla is definitely more complicated but I disagree that Wordpress is better for blogs. The configuration does get involved but there are ways to use an optimized Joomla with an optimized Mojoblog component to blow Wordpress away in search engine rank. (that's the free method)

You just have to understand what you're doing with sef urls, page titles, theming, and so on. If you use all the tools Joomla has to offer for keywords and blogging, it has more potential.

There are commercial add-ons and there's a new one that installs Wordpress and Wordpress MU into the Joomla CMS.

But Wordpress is so simple that kids use it, with the easy to use interface, plugin search from admin backend, auto-installing, auto-updating, etc. All this makes it really clean and works out of the box, and you can begin posting content right away (the whole point of owning a blog).

The wordpress codebase is so vastly superior to joomla's that I fail to see how the two can be compared in the first place.

Unlike wordpress, with joomla you can make even the most complicated things seem easy, that's why it is the best. Moreover, you have more essentials than WP extensions. Be it business websites or minisites, joomla serves the best. You should try it to know how it feels.

I don't see any benefit that would make me choose Joomla over Wordpress.

The free way to integrate both is using Joomla 1.0.15 and Mojoblog 0.16

The commercial way to go is Joomla 1.5 and Wordpress MU (visit Joomla extensions and search for blog, the WP MU is in the search results)

My dream site would be Joomla 1.6 w/ optimized Wordpress MU, integrated vBulletin forum by JFusion, and JomSocial.

I have used both, but I prefer wordpress. Wordpress works faster, and I like the template mechanism much more.

    By myself i voted J.
I tried to use WP for my blog but just few days. I went away WP.
The weak functions (for ex: you can't management which article should show for each group)
Yap. Someone said that WP is better for SEF. uhm in some case it's right but w/ J if you have some knowledge about programming, SEO skill you can do it on J

    Finally by myself:
You start with WP for simply using w/o any knowledge requires
And jump to J with you'r better.

For me i like the easy set up with WP and i trying with J but its not the same and there is many bugs when you try diffrent things. For WP there is always an update and now even auto update.
