well if u can afford it and have a long term site then u shud definitely go for it...most businesses are listed there. its like dmoz, except that its not free.
I pay to have one of my sites listed because a spot or two on a couple of keywords can easily justify the cost. I don't bother with other sites that produce less income. I did, as an experiment, list a site once that was very similar to other sites that I run that weren't listed, and I was surprised to discover that it helped my rankings on google more than yahoo, although it didn't help enough to justify the cost.
don't think its worth you already have the best position then why waste 299 bucks on there worthless directory better to pay that money to someone to submit to 100's of other directories rather than just one Yahoo Dir.
I would say you spend the same money on business.com instead of Yahoo directory. I have seen some good results with business.com.
My question - If your site got listed in Yahoo directory but in deep hierarchy and deep page category (page 6 for example). Does it still help your site awareness in Google? Will your site be found by Google even in a page that hasn't been indexed by Googlebot?
From a few people I have talked to about submitting my own links to the Yahoo directory, they said it is not worth it. While it does give you a strong back-link, the problem is that the traffic benefit is not very high. Basically, your $300 can be spent elsewhere to improve your site, generating more back-links and more traffic.

I think it largely depends on where you get listed within the Yahoo! directory. Get a good placement within the hierarchy and it has the potential to easily justify the fee.
LOL, I would want somebody to do linkbuilding for my site for $299 rather than just wasting it on a directory !
Just get listed on DMOZ. Screw Yahoo, websites should be listed for free. They're a search engine, right? Why should we have to pay them. Take that $299.00 and go buy some articles, or better yet, go on a date.
Its NOT worth it. Limited traffic. with the $300 you can buy MANY quality links that will get you further than a link on Yahoo! directory.
